Oregon

We were able to go to Portland, OR over the 4th of July. Chad's brother Andy and his wife Alex were blessing their sweet little baby girl Brooke, so the whole McKen family was able to go. We had so much fun spending time with family! To our surprise the girls traveled way better than expected! We have some pretty good travelers and are so grateful for that. We drove all day Wednesday, and that evening we enjoyed visiting with Andy and Alex. Andy was so kind and practiced his chiropractic skills and adjusted both Chad and I. I had been wanting to go to the chiropractor since I had little Sadie. Thanks Andy!! Thursday we did more visiting, went to Voodoo doughnut ( amazing doughnuts) my favorite has white frosting with oreo's on top! we walked to a near by park and brayli had a blast! For dinner we went to the food carts. Friday we went to Multnomah falls, which falls 611 feet. The top part falls 542 feet, with the bottom dropping 69 feet. This waterfall is by far my favorite! Brayli loved the waterfalls. Then we went to Latourell falls plunging at 249 feet. We drove along the old highway to get to the outlets. It was such a beautiful drive and we got to the top and were able to over look the Columbia river. So gorgeous! We went shopping at the outlet mall, followed by more visiting. That night we went to watch fireworks and everywhere they had planned was no luck, so we ended up parking along the Columbia river and watched a little show there and did some sparklers. Saturday we had family pictures taken, then went to a u-pick farm. We picked raspberries and blueberries and brayli was such a good help and loved it! After u-pick we went to the Adidas employee store. Andy had a pass to go ( you have to have a pass to get in and show it again when you pay) and we were able to find a few things, everything was 50% off! Back to the hotel we went for some swimming and pizza! Pam, Kirsten, Rachel, and I went to the store for Sunday's dinner and stuff to store our berries. Chad and Bryant were so kind to let me go, even though the girls were not a sleep yet. Sadie is super attached to mommy, so whenever I leave her I hesitate at how well she will do. She did great! Grandpa got her to sleep shortly after we left and she stayed a sleep. After taking care of berries we did not get to bed tell probably 11:30. We had pretty long fun filled days and loved it! Sunday was Brooke's blessing day and Andy gave a beautiful blessing and little Brooke was so beautiful! After church we went and walked around the Portland temple. I love how every temple is so unique and beautiful in their own way. It was nice to just sit around and relax. While dinner was cooking we went to the park again and Brayli still talks about it. Brayli will never pass up the chance to go to the park. Monday we drove home and the girls still did amazingly well. We are so grateful we had the chance to go and are so grateful for the help given by family to help get us there.
